Workshops and Campaigns

To supplement the knowledge and widen the perception of our children and vocational trainees ISHWAR conducts regular workshops and campaigns. Experts from various fields are invited to undertake sessions based on age-group and levels of education.

Art of Living Foundation:

conducted its week-long at ISHWAR from 27-31 Jan 2020. Christened Bal Chetna Shivir, it was a workshop programme aimed at eliminating stress, creating a sense of belonging, restoring human values, love, compassion and encouraging people from all backgrounds, religions, and cultural traditions to come together in celebration and service of humanity. The workshop provided tools to improve overall health, wellness and increase enthusiasm and mental focus. Children learnt breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques that eliminate stress from their system, resulting in a clear mindset that can solve problems. The theme was – when individuals are uplifted the whole community is enriched! ISHWAR and its entire team thank Ms Manisha Hakim for enabling this workshop and coordinating with the Art of Living Foundation to make it possible.

Workshop on Entrepreneurship by Azadeh and Rony from Canada:

A 2-day workshop on how to become entrepreneurs through problem-solving. It covered – how to identify the problems around them, see the opportunity in those problems, and come up with solutions. Day 1 taught them about the concept of being an entrepreneur and asked children to select a problem they want to solve (as homework).  On day 2, they presented their problem, opportunity, solution in front of the class – in English! Children took on big challenges such as pollution, smoking, garbage in Delhi, child labour, unemployment, etc. They picked the issue of solving Delhi’s garbage & pollution problem and called it the #CleanDelhi project.

“ISHWAR NGO has taken kids from slums and poor areas of Delhi and placed them into school to provide for a better future. This workshop experience has been beyond words. I’m first and foremost so impressed by these kids who came with so much enthusiasm, curiosity, sitting at the edge of their seats, participating right away without us having to ‘break the ice’, and speaking in English!! How can these kids have so much potential when the world has given them NOTHING? I’m so moved, touched and inspired by who they are, and the possibility they can be in the world. There’s a lot of turmoil going around in the world. I truly believe we can all help bring more love, peace, fulfillment to humanity by reaching out and knowing we can make a positive difference. From my heart to yours…” says Azadeh!
