English (Hons.) with a degree in Textile Designing, she was the Head Girl at Delhi Public School and President Gold Medal awardee in 1974 for the best student in Delhi. Winner of Shankar’s International Declamation Competition, she is also a Gold Medal awardee by the then Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi. Demonstrating her leadership abilities, she became President of the College Dramatic Society and Economic Society and later President of her College in 1977. In sports, she represented the Himachal State in Badminton & Table Tennis. She has been extensively involved in social work. As President of ISHWAR since 2004 , she was instrumental in conceptualizing and setting up programmes in education, music, sports and vocational training. She set up ‘Chess for Children’ for underprivileged children with daughter Tania Sachdev, woman Grandmaster and member of Indian Chess Team. Earlier she started the Vocational Training section in the Spastic Society of Northern India, while working there as Consultant for 9 years. Card making, paper bags, wrapping paper were made for the first time by children and sold in the market under her supervision. She also arranged musical programmes to raise funds for schools and set up an oil pressing machine with the help of sponsors to enable children to earn a livelihood. She has worked with Mother Teresa’s old age home and blind school and has participated in health awareness campaigns of the Indian Red Cross.

A business leader and philanthropist with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, she has been extensively involved in social activities. She has been Vice President of ISHWAR since 2004. Earlier, she taught North Indian classical vocal music for 15 years and conducted fund-raisers for “AGE CARE” Society Delhi, “Hospital for the Blind” at Noida. She has performed for various concerts in India at the International Centre, Vishakhapatnam, Tarannum Society, donating a part of the concert money to different places for charitable purposes. She is a pillar of support to several NGOs and social charitable institutions.

Awarded Hony. Doctorate in social work for exemplary community service in an honorary capacity spanning nearly 40 years, he is an Author, a Sociologist with post-graduate qualifications in Computer Science and Business Management along with certifications from Lotus Development Corp, UK and Microsoft Corp, USA. His social appointments (current and past) are: General Secretary – ISHWAR, 2004 till date; President – Delhi District Rifle Association; Member of Governing Board – Delhi State Rifle Association, the State level body controlling shooting sports for citizens of Delhi; Ex-President – South Delhi District Rifle Association (Regd.); Special Police Officer – Delhi Police; Dy Post Warden – Delhi Civil Defence (a uniformed appointment under Directorate of Civil Defence & Home Guards, Delhi Administration) – 1984 to 1993 and Member – St John Ambulance Brigade, under Indian Red Cross.
His current community service began at a young age of 15 years when he was honoured for ‘Social, Cultural & Relief Work’ by the Dy. Minister for Labour, Government of India, in 1982. He was honoured for being an active Social Worker by Ms Premala Chavan, Member of Parliament in 1982 and honoured by the Metropolitan Council, Delhi at the Raj Niwas for valuable community services rendered in 1986. He was awarded by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee for rendering selfless medical services and by the St John Ambulance (Indian Red Cross) for participation and establishment of First-Aid camps. He was also honoured by the Handicapped Welfare Federation in 1985 and awarded by the Commissioner of Police, Delhi Police, for organizing drug de-addiction camps and treating addicts as in-door / out-door patients in 1988. Trained in rescue, fire-fighting, first-aid, weapons & radio communications he was awarded Gallantry Medal by President of India for saving lives at the risk of his own life; Recipient of Red & White Bravery Award; Awardee of the prestigious Commendation Roll, Delhi Police’s highest certificate of honour, and over 2-dozen citations by Delhi Police for excellence in police work, he was mobilised during the 1991 Gulf War to help the Indian community in Iraq by Indian Red Cross. A medallist national level sportsman in shooting sports, he also holds the National Record in India’s Limca Book of Records for the largest collection of knives in India. He is a well-awarded bird and wildlife photographer and naturalist and author of ‘Wild Perspectives’, a book on wildlife.

She is a Special Educator and Head Teacher with Masters in English, Bachelor of Science and Arts and Bachelor in Education. She has extensive work experience as a Special Educator at Vasant Valley School; American Embassy School; Zion Preparatory Academy- Seattle, WA, USA. Earlier she was an Interpreter at the Centre for Neuro Skills, Bakerfield, CA; Student Assistant – California State University; English Teacher at St. Columba’s School, New Delhi and Teacher at Presentation Convent High School, Jammu, India. She has been involved as Global Messenger – Special Olympics Bharat; AIDS awareness campaigns; Inclusive Education for Visually Impaired under Mr. George Abraham; Brain Gym under Dr. Amita Sen, UK; Synergy- Mind Enlightenment under Dr. J Nagpal, Head Psychiatrics Department, VIMHANS, New Delhi; Family Support System under Dr. Rachel Pike, Psychologist, UK; Autism under Anthony Bailey, Psychiatrics, UK; Behavioural issues of children with special needs with Dr. Lall, Psychologist; International Conference on Autism – Tamanna Special School, New Delhi. She has also been Mentor at the following Special Olympics: 2006 Special Olympics zonal matches, 2005 Youth Summit and the 2004 National Special Olympics held in New Delhi.

An Attorney with the Supreme Court of India, he is an Honours Graduate in Economics from University of Delhi, a Post-graduate in Information Technology & Software Development, and Bachelor in Law (LLB) from University of Delhi (1994). He holds over 25 years of experience in law, technology and litigation with a focus on technology and IPR laws. Holder of two US Patents on e-discovery technology processes (7831544 & 8380687) used in litigation/ investigation of cybercrimes, he is also Author of a book “Interface between Competition Law and IPRs: A global perspective,” published by GIIP (2012). Working as Co-managing Partner at Jotwani Associates LLP since 2015, a multi-specialist law firm dealing with Government Relations, Intellectual Property, Corporate Law, Litigation, Real Estate, and Immigration. The law firm has been rated as a Top Indian Law Firm by Forbes in the area of Technology and IPRs for the year 2020.  As a social worker, he has been involved in several social projects relating to Legal Education, Women and Children’s legal rights and helping poor undertrials seek justice. Twenty percent of Jotwani Associates is committed to pro-bono cases that involve grave social and economic injustice to underprivileged and backward castes of the society.

After her Bachelor in Arts, and Bachelor in Education, she learnt Fashion Art Designing from National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi. A businesswoman with a spirit for social work, she has Supervised and taught children in the Village School of Dosanjh Kalan in Jalandhar, Punjab, India; Taught at Chrysalis Nursery School, Jangpura, New Delhi and also at Bevli Montessori School, Los Angeles, USA. Her family donated a 25-bed hospital to their village Dosanjh Kalan in Punjab as well as a complete building for a girls school. Ex-member of Q.U.O.T.A – she ran a fund-raiser ‘Fashion Show’ for charitable organisations at the Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi.

A businesswoman , she has Bachelor in Arts and Masters in Business Administration from Delhi University. With a rich 27 years of corporate experience with British Airways, she has now joined her own construction and interiors business. On the social side, she has been regularly involved in social work helping the poor and the underprivileged in getting medical aid.  She has also been instrumental in arranging and helping in the distribution of food and rations to the extremely poor.
